Each Deaf participant will learn the linguistic principles and specific methodology required to take materials from a written form and translate them into clear, accurate, natural and acceptable sign language.

Working as a team they will be trained to:

• Understand the written text
• Determine how to sign the concepts in the text
• Work on correct placement and spatial issues (linguistic essentials in sign languages worldwide)
• Assign a lead signer
• Review the complete signed version and make corrections
• Record the signed material on camera in a video studio

This will involve working with video studio operations including:

• Setting up lights
• Working with a green screen
• Operating a camera
• Signing in front of the camera
